Overall it means that traditional data processing applications are inadequate.

The Big data has also been defined by the three Vs:

  1. Volume
  2. Velocity
  3. Variety

1. Volume

Volume refers to the amount of data (videos, musics, large images etc.) generated by any organization or individuals. Usually, organisations storage volumes are in lots of terabytes or petabytes.

2. Velocity

Velocity refers to the data is streaming into the server in real time. So, it gives better and useful result, also if the delay is very short.  It will also better for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Because IoT applications have health and safety ramifications that require real-time evaluation and action.

3. Variety
